Samuel F. Cook letter and reminiscences, May 20, 1912.

Letter to President Hutchins containing separate reminiscences of life at the University of Michigan and especially regarding the firing of President Henry P. Tappan, the hiring and treatment by the students of President Henry S. Frieze, and the eventual hiring of James B. Angell. The reminiscences also contains comments on the newly established agricultural college in the state. The reminiscences was prepared after conversation with George Willard who was regent at the time of the Tappan firing. Many of his comments concern Tappan's church denomination.
